A look at the security systems installed at the HLC Safe and Secure features the modern security system installed in the Hadley Learning Community, a £60 million extended school in Telford. Scores of CCTV cameras, some of which have face and number plate recognition systems, scan the inside and outside of the school buildings. But the Principal wants to ensure that the school maintains a welcoming atmosphere, essential for a school with a major community facility on site.
The programme also features the leadership team designing the behaviour policy for the HLC. Staff and pupils will be supported by a student services department which aims to give unhappy students the time they need to discuss their problems. It will also give teachers on the front line the ability to concentrate on the classroom rather than spending too much time attending to pupils’ emotional needs.
